Susan Lynn Cohen, 73, a beautiful and compassionate soul, died on August 6, 2025, in Richmond, Virginia, her hometown. The product of the city's public schools and a VCU graduate, Susan devoted her professional life to education, first as a teacher of students with special needs and later as a middle school teacher. She devoted her private life to her family and friends. She never forgot a birthday, tended to her elderly mother's every need, and was the keeper of the family history. She was particular in her tastes, but also easy to please, loving time spent in conversation and laughing with friends, while sipping on a glass of Chardonnay. She is survived by her mother, Elinor; two brothers, Richard and David; three nephews, Sam, Alex, and Miles; two nieces, Meredith and Brianna; two sisters-in-law, Emily and Karen; and many friends, including Randi Plotkin Saunders, who was like a sister to her. All will miss her. A funeral and graveside service will take place in the chapel at Richmond Beth El Cemetery at Forest Lawn on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 11:00 am.
